South Coast Police are calling on Nowra residents for urgent assistance following a suspicious incident involving a nine-year-old girl earlier this week.

At approximately 3pm on Tuesday, a young girl got off a bus at the corner of Btu and Nowra Hill Road.

She was approached by two unknown men who attempted to convince her to get into their vehicle.

Displaying incredible quick thinking, the girl ran from the scene and hid in nearby bushes until the men drove away.

Police are looking to identify two individuals and a specific vehicle seen in the area: the men are described as being of Asian appearance and in their early 20s amd their vehicle was a silver sedan or small SUV.

Investigators are particularly interested in anyone who may have dashcam footage from the Nowra Hill area between 2.30pm and 3.30pm on Tuesday.
