Watch out: More parking inspectors in Kiama

Kiama Council is adding more parking inspectors from early November as part of its ongoing commitment to fair and consistent parking enforcement.

Council has reminded motorists in the local government area to follow all posted parking signs and regulations.

With increased patrols, more parking infringements are likely to be issued.

Council has issued a statement to recognise “this can be frustrating, however we ask our community to remain respectful when engaging with Council staff”.

“Abuse of staff – whether in person, over the phone or online – is never acceptable.

“Our teams are here to help, but they are not able to revoke fines or provide information about inspector patrols. All staff deserve to work in a safe and respectful environment.”

Council is also reminding the local community that they need to respect the work of the compliance officers (rangers) and follow their advice or requests, particularly around dog control and safety.
