Turn bottles into bucks: Berry Bowling Club's new Return and Earn machine Vesna Davidovic (General Manager NSW, TOMRA Cleanaway), James Dorney (CEO, TOMRA Cleanaway), Berry-Broughton Vale RFS, Katelin McInerney MP, Members of the Berry Alliance, Bob Willetts (Berry PS, Principal), Berry P & C representatives, and students from Berry Public School

Berry residents now have one more way to turn their recyclables into cash (or good deeds) with the opening of a new Return and Earn machine at Berry Bowling Club.

The machine, the 10th in the Shoalhaven City Council area, is located at 140 Queen Street and is open daily from 7am to 10pm.

Locals can recycle eligible bottles, cans, and cartons for a 10‑cent refund, which can be redeemed for cash, a shopping discount at IGA Berry, or sent straight to a bank or PayPal account via the Return and Earn app.

Community-minded recyclers can also donate their refunds to local causes.

Berry Public School’s student representative council is one of over 500 donation partners, or donations can go to statewide charities like Jeans for Genes, supporting research into children’s genetic conditions.

Since its launch in 2017, Return and Earn has raised more than $91 million for charities and community groups across NSW.

Member for Kiama, Katelin McInerney, praised the community’s efforts:

“We know our community are enthusiastic and diligent recyclers, returning over 265 million eligible containers through local return points. It’s fantastic to see Berry Public School among the donation partners, making it easy for locals to support their school while recycling.”
