Our Gilmore Member Fiona Phillips has been a bit of a dare devil – she shared her experience at the Australian Defence Force Parachuting School. 

The three-day ADF parliamentary exchange revealed the intensive training undertaken by special operations defence members, including commandos and SAS, covering various parachuting skills. 

With over 100 Defence members across four courses, Mrs. Phillips participated in drills, simulators, and even a tandem jump at 13,000 feet. Despite a slight landing issue resulting in a fractured fibula, she commends the ADF Parachuting School's dedication to preparing defence members for diverse scenarios. 

Mrs. Phillips expresses gratitude to the ADF parachuters and encourages others to consider a defence career, emphasising the commitment of special operations members to protect the nation.
