Police have thanked the public for their assistance after they located a girl missing from Nowra.

The 12-year-old was last seen on Blackmore Close about 1.30pm on Thursday.

She was reported missing to officers from South Coast Police District who started inquiries into her whereabouts.

Police and family had held concerns due to her age but it was announced late on Friday morning that she has been located .
