NSW Premier Chris Minns, Kiama Mayor Cameron McDonald and Council CEO Jane Stroud have their say on how the various proposals should progress.
“You've got to have development that's in keeping with some of the most beautiful high streets and town centres that we have in the state," Minns said.
“But I think we can get the balance right. I think you can have a bit more urban development closer to town and one of the reasons it's really important is that it's got to go somewhere.”
You can also read plenty of great community stories including the stalemate over the former police residence in Kiama, a Christmas gift guide, a column from former Mayor Neil Reilly on the development issue and an Astute local business.
In sport, you can read about all the latest in South Coast cricket, a young basketballer on the rise and the Kiama Knights' presentation night.
Kiama Knights fullback Brad Killmore capped off a stellar return season by taking out the First Grade Best and Fairest award at the club’s 2025 presentation night.
Best and Fairest & Player’s Player in the Kiama women's leaguetag team was Chelsea Wallace.
