NSW Premier Chris Minns and Opposition Leader Mark Speakman have called on Ward to resign immediately with community members incensed that he will continue to be entitled to his salary and entitlements despite being in jail. They are likely to expel him when NSW Parliament reconvenes on Tuesday.
There is also a feature on the Orry-Kelly Gala night and the unveiling of a NSW Government blue plaque recognising his amazing life.
You can also read plenty of great community stories including an update on the Shoalhaven Street precinct, tough new laws targeting illegal sales at tobacconist shops and a bid to reduce the amount of signage which is permissible during election campaigns.
And there is more on the NAIDOC Awards, homelessness in the Kiama LGA, a column by former Mayor Neil Reilly and all the latest in local sport, including league, rugby, AFL and a feature on local trainers on the horse's birthday of August 1.
Our intrepid photographer Brian Scott has taken lots of pictures of our local sporting community, there is a full list of What's On in our region and for the greenthumbs, check out our latest video from gardening guru John Gabriele.
