There is also a feature on the Icy Poles, a local group of women who have been braving the chilly water at dawn in Kiama rockpool to raise money for charity.
Despite water temperatures between 13-15°C at this time of year, the women remove their wetsuit tops before entering, saying it would be “cheating” otherwise.
Dressed in yellow tutus and daffodil-themed swim caps, they’ve made the daily dip every day this month.
You can also read plenty of great community stories including an update on Kiama fireworks saga, a charity golf day in Gerringong in honour of Sam Matters and the problems with phone coverage in Minnamurra.
And there is more on Jeans for Genes Day, a traffic problem at Foxground and the Folk by the Sea festival as well as plenty of sport, including rugby, AFL and a feature two locals who are making their mark with the Dragons.
