Australia celebrates National Playgroup Week from Monday 18 March to Sunday 24 March this year and Gareth Ward MP has released a statement encouraging local residents and community organisations to show their support.
Mr Ward said local playgroups perform a crucial role for families in preparing children for success at school. Playgroups allow children to develop the skills and confidence to be engaged and happy at school.
“We know that statistically, one in three Australian children attend a playgroup before they start school,” he said. “Children of all backgrounds and abilities need the strong foundation for learning that our local playgroups provide.”
