A man has been charged following an alleged serious assault in Shellharbour last Friday.
About 10.40pm on 23 January, emergency services were called to Addison Street following reports of an alleged assault, which left a man injured on the footpath.
NSW Ambulance responded and treated a 36-year-old man for a broken jaw, a fractured eye socket and other head injuries.
He was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Lake Illawarra Police District officers responded and started an investigation.
Following inquiries, a 21-year-old man was arrested at Lake Illawarra Police Station about 11:25am on Tuesday.
He has been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and after he was refused bail, he was due to appear at Bail Division Court on Wednesday.
