That a young man could accuse our local MP of a serious offence, and then 18 months later apply for a position within the same MPs office, definitely fits the definition of 'incredible'.
It defies creditability, for mine. It is about as believable as Brittany Higgins ringing Bruce Lehrmann, and asking for another date, post their parliamentary late-night romp.
The haste with which our MP was incarcerated also stinks to high heaven.
It was reported on WIN News the same night a former serving NSW police officer was let go with a good behaviour bond, after being found guilty of tasering an elderly woman in a nursing home.
The former cop had been out on bail, previously.
Compare the two, and tell me there wasn't some sort of pressure brought to bear on the sentencing judge, in Gareth's case.
This all smacks of the sort of political interference I witnessed in Victoria, when the establishment decided they had to get George Pell.
It diminishes all concerned - particularly the Premier of this state, who I had a grudging respect for, previously!
