Kiama Lions Club marked its first gathering of the year with a get-together at Kiama Surf Life Saving Club this week.

The evening included special recognition of Warren Steel, who was acknowledged for an outstanding 60 years of service as a Lion, having joined the organisation on 1 January 1966.

Club President Susan also thanked members for their continued commitment and announced a $6,000 donation towards disaster relief efforts across Australia.

The funds will be shared among several organisations, including the Australian Lions Foundation, Need for Feed Australia, Disaster Relief Australia and Sikh Volunteers Australia.
