Furry friends receive funding to upgrade Bomo Dog Bowl

Member for Kiama, Gareth Ward has announced funding to improve safety and amenity at the Bomo Dog Bowl.

The off-leash dog park in Bomaderry attracts hundreds of visitors and pups each year. The proposed improvements of the park include the establishment of an all-weather shade structure, a fenced enclosure, additional signage and shelter.

‘’With thousands of dogs registered throughout the Shoalhaven, the Bomo Dog Bowl is a very popular place for people to come and play with their dogs in a safe environment and meet other dog owners as well. The funding I am announcing today builds on previous grants I have secured for this great local facility,” Ward says.

New funding has been secured through the New South Wales Government Community Building Partnership program, bolstered by the support of a community petition established by Ward and local residents.

Kylie Knight from the Bomaderry Community Inc. welcomed the enhanced safety measures,

“It is one thing to be told that dogs need to be under ‘effective control’ and another to know what that looks like…sometimes owners are new or just lack understanding about how to read a dog’s body language,” Kylie says.
