A body, believed to be that of a man missing from Kiama, was located on Wednesday.
Emergency services conducted an extensive search in the waters off Kiama Blowhole for a 57-year-old man who had not been seen since Monday.
When he could not be located or contacted, Lake Illawarra Police District was notified on Tuesday and started inquiries into his whereabouts.
About 8.30am on Wednesday, police – with assistance from Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit, Marine Area Command, State Emergency Service and Surf Life Saving NSW – started a search of the Kiama Blowhole area.
Following a search of the area, emergency services located the body of a man.
While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing man.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
