Bridie Grey is one of the many children starting Kindergarten in our area this week.
She’s been excited about it for weeks, parading around in her school uniform and making sure her schoolbag was packed and ready.
Today is the big day, with Bridie joining her sister Tabitha as at least the fifth generation of the Grey family to attend Kiama Public School.
“I want to make new friends and learn sport and math, and play on the playground with the tunnels,” she says.
She is also eager to visit the school’s animal farm, where the students are allowed to pat and look after the animals.
“We will get to pat the animals at the school like sheep, guinea pigs and chickens.”
Bridie already has her sights set on a career when she finishes school, “I would like to be a primary school teacher.”
“She wanted to be a gymnast last week,” says her mother, Mahlah.
