Bugle Bulletin: Mayoral plans, Quarry shake-up & Knights claim the crown!

IT’S MONDAY — AND THAT MEANS BUGLE BULLETIN DAY!

Welcome to The Bugle’s weekly news and sport broadcast, bringing you the best of the week’s local stories - complete with visuals that bring them to life.

We kick off this week’s Bulletin live from the 2025 Kiama Mayoral Breakfast, where a crowd of local MPs, Kiama Council representatives, and business leaders gathered at the Mercure Gerringong. Mayor Cameron McDonald outlined Council’s recent progress and shared priorities for the year ahead.

Next, we cross to breaking news on the long-awaited transformation of Bombo Quarry into a new residential area - a major development for our region.

Then it’s over to Cedar on Collins, where residents and staff warmly welcomed the public for an open day at Kiama’s premium coastal retirement village.

We also visit the Old Fire Station, which was beautifully transformed by Michelle Springett and her team at Expressive Art as part of the Daisy Spring Festival - a celebration of creativity and community.

And we wrap up with some tail-wagging fun at the Albion Park Showground, where 96 dogs across 17 teams competed in the South Coast Dog Training Club’s biannual Flyball competition.

In sport, the big headline:

Kiama Knights are your 2025 Group 7 First Grade Premiers, after a gritty 16-4 win over the Shellharbour Sharks in a grand final showdown at Centenary Park!

Also this weekend, 500 athletes took on the Kiama Triathlon, racing through our stunning coastal landscape in an event that brought locals and visitors together.

At The Bugle, we’re committed to pairing compelling visuals with meaningful local storytelling - delivering a news experience that’s informative, entertaining, and deeply connected to our community.
