The Bugle Bulletin brings you the latest local news and weekend sports highlights - and with the Kiama by-election heating up, we’ve got all the developments covered.
NSW Opposition Leader Mark Speakman was in Kiama earlier today, alongside Liberal candidate Serena Copley, calling on Premier Chris Minns to cut the red tape holding up housing developments at Spring Creek, near Bombo Quarry.
Meanwhile, Labor candidate Katelin McInerney joined Roads Minister Jenny Aitchison at Macquarie Pass on Monday to announce a $9.6 million upgrade to the motorway.
And Greens candidate Tonia Gray was in Berry, declaring her vision to repurpose David Berry Hospital into a dedicated mental health facility.
With the ballot now drawn, Gray will appear first, followed by Copley, with McInerney appearing at the bottom of the ticket.
In sport, both Kiama rugby union teams are off to the Illawarra District Rugby Union grand finals after strong wins at Kiama Showground on Saturday.
In rugby league, the Kiama Knights narrowly missed out on the Group 7 minor premiership by just 17 for-and-against points.
And in soccer, the Jamberoo Ravens Over 40s capped off an undefeated season with a dramatic grand final win - sealing victory with a goal in the final three minutes.
