WO-MAN-O-FEST

Wed 18 Feb 2026, 11:00 PM - Wed 04 Mar 2026, 6:00 AM

Old Fire Station Kiama

A bold and celebratory group exhibition titled WO-MAN-O-FEST will transform the historic Kiama Fire Station into a vibrant hub of art and jewellery from Thursday 19 February to Wednesday 5 March.

The exhibition is curated by artist Auguste Blackman, son of renowned Australian painter Charles Blackman, and brings together a diverse collection of Illawarra-based talent.

A standout feature of the show is the work of Harvey and Jules, who will be displaying a striking collection of polished Australian Boulder Opal jewellery. These magnificent specimens showcase the gemstone’s natural beauty and individuality, with a rich mix of colours, organic forms and elegant striations. Seamlessly fused with ironstone host rock, Boulder Opals are prized for their play of light, depth, sparkle and fluorescence—making each piece entirely one of a kind and highly sought after by collectors and jewellery enthusiasts alike.

The exhibition also features works by respected Indigenous artist Randall Sinnamon, alongside contributions from Leah Wilde, Bob Dixon and Machteld Hali.

Adding a playful and personal element to the show, Auguste Blackman has created 45 owl paintings specifically for the Kiama exhibition, promising visitors a visual experience full of character and charm.

An official opening will be held from 5pm on Thursday 19 February, and the public is warmly invited to attend.

With its mix of fine art, exceptional jewellery and a touch of humour, WO-MAN-O-FEST promises to be a memorable cultural event for Kiama.
